About Us
Founded in 2025, SHEF Rhome, Inc. was created from a simple but powerful belief: no one in our community should go hungry or feel unsupported when access to food, knowledge, and basic resources can change lives.

Rooted in dignity, compassion, and service, we nourish both body and mind by providing high quality food, practical financial literacy, and essential life skills to individuals and families in Violet, Louisiana and surrounding communities. Through hands on outreach and education, we meet people where they are and ensure support is accessible to all without discrimination.

Our work goes beyond food distribution. Through programs like SHEF Rhome, Shelf Help, SHEF Home, and She Rhome, we provide nutritious meals, grocery education, in home culinary support, sanitary supplies, and baby essentials. Each program is designed to strengthen households, empower women and parents, and create lasting stability for families facing hardship.

Meet the Founder
Renay Rhome Johnson - Executive Director
SHEF Rhome, Inc. was founded by Renay Rhome Johnson, a woman driven by compassion, resilience, and a deep commitment to serving others. Through her own life experiences and firsthand exposure to community hardship, Renay witnessed how many individuals and families struggle daily with food insecurity, limited resources, and a lack of practical support systems.

She saw a pressing need for more than temporary relief. Renay envisioned a space where people could be nourished with dignity, empowered through education, and supported with real life skills that strengthen households and restore confidence. A space where women, parents, and families feel seen, respected, and equipped to build stability for themselves and their children.

From this vision, SHEF Rhome, Inc. was created. It is a community rooted in service, compassion, and action, providing not only meals, but knowledge, guidance, and essential resources that uplift the whole person. Through programs focused on food access, grocery education, in home support, and family essentials, Renay’s mission is to meet people where they are and walk alongside them toward independence.
